It was meant to be a recording by proxy. Amitabh Bachchan had recorded the title song of Paa in the incredibly- juvenile voice of his character Auro. And he did it at Aadesh Shrivastava's studio two weeks ago, rendering the track sent by Ilaiyaraja to perfect in a 12-year old's voice.
Aamir Khan is known to walk the path less travelled. And has done so again by choosing to release the music of his upcoming film "3 Idiots" online and getting the parents of composer Shantanu Moitra and lyricist Swanand Kirkire to grace the event.
'Paa' offers simple yet delightful music (Music Review)
"Paa" is a film with an unusual story and music maestro Ilayaraja has composed tunes that gel well with the movie's subject. Director R. Balakrishnan's film stars Amitabh Bachchan as Abhishek's son Auro, who suffers from progeria that causes premature ageing. It also stars Vidya Balan.
"Allah ke bande", "Piya Haji Ali", "Khwaja mere khwaja", "Arziyaan"...the list is long. Bollywood is surely smitten by Sufi music as composers churn out chartbusters by weaving its melodious flavour into their songs.
'3 Idiots' music has youthful spunk, raw energy (Music Review)
It's a soundtrack that's sure to click. Shantanu Moitra, who had scored the music for Rajkumar Hirani's "Lage Raho Munnabhai", returns with "3 Idiots" and has churned out songs that are catchy, different and high on energy.
3 Idiots is a good quality album that has two super strong tracks - 'Aal Izz Well' and 'Jaane Nahin Denge Tujhe'. Both are poles apart though because while former is for mass audiences, latter should find a perfect placement in the film's narrative. 'Zoobi Doobi' is nice while 'Behti Hawa' and 'Give Me Some Sunshine' would be known more after the film's release.
