Anil Ambani group to launch FM station in Singapore
| New Delhi, June 24(IANS) Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (R-ADAG) is all set to launch a 24-hour FM radio station in Singapore that will broadcast Indian film music, news and other entertainment trivia in a collaborative venture with local station MediaCorp Radio. The station will be called Big Bollywood 96.3 FM. "This is the first time an Indian FM station is going offshore. The channel will play celebrity interviews, songs, gossip," said a senior executive of the Anil Ambani group, familiar with the negotiations. "A formal announcement will be made soon in Singapore by Tarun Katyal, our chief operating officer," the executive told IANS, adding well-known playback singer Sonu Nigam will also perform at the launch event. This is another major overseas foray for the group after it decided to join hands with eight major Hollywood production houses last month to make movies. In India, the group runs the Big 92.7 FM radio station. |
