Business Talk With Taran Adarsh: 'Ghajini' mania!

In the 80s, the Amitabh Bachchan starrer COOLIE had hit headlines. Big B's accident on its sets, the subsequent hospitalisation of the superstar [the entire nation was praying for him], the unprecedented advance bookings prior to its release, the hysteria it generated in its opening week... everything was unprecedented. Today, it's GHAJINI. Everywhere you go, every person you interact with, every newspaper you glance in the morning, every TV channel you surf, GHAJINI is in news, it's the focal point of discussion. The paid previews on Wednesday [today evening] are packed to capacity in advance itself. Heavy ticket sales have been witnessed for the entire weekend and I expect the first weekend to close anywhere between Rs. 32 and Rs. 35 crores. The distributors [Studio 18] are also expecting the same figure, but I'd be glad if we're proved wrong and the film crosses Rs. 35 cr. nett in its opening weekend. GHAJINI should be the biggest opener of all times. It should set new records in days to come. I give full credit to Aamir Khan and the entire marketing team of GHAJINI for the euphoria the film has generated. The strategy has worked big time and the results are for all to see. The ticket counters are co-related to how you promote and market the film prior to its release. And post release, the word of mouth plays a crucial role. The star power of SRK came to the rescue of RAB NE BANA DI JODI and the star power of Aamir Khan, coupled with the merits of the film, should help GHAJINI attain success of epic proportions. Once again Amirand Ghajini has proved that its not the Banner but the talent works. The way amir portrayed himself as a patient, business man and a lover was the best one could ever see in Bollywood.the innocent and cute love scenes with Asin was moments to fall for.Again a big thanks to GHajini team for gofting bollywood with a Class actress in Asin...
I hae kept my fingers crossed for Amirs next releases. Movie lovers can alwaya expect the unexpected from this Genius...AMIR IS THE BEST
hi all well im also a bigtime bollywood movie fan n i love to see srk movies but aftyer watching ghajini im flattered cum on people so much energy from an actor is unpredictable seems like amir khan has taken the lead. i have watched diz movie for about more than 10 time in cinema in just one week. the movie is full of intensity like keeps u guessing what will happen next. well done Mr Amir Khan for a good movie for year 2008.It is true dat srk shines only with yash raj films or with karan johar movies but amir khan has proved that big banners contributes nothing in success of a films its da acting that matters thumbs up sir n once again congratulation for the success of ghajini. hope you also take the best actor awards n hope to see u on awards nite.

MMMMH I think AAmir Khan could be 2nd and SRK could be 3rd to Amitab Bachan Being #1 in Bollywood and thats the reason I am glued to Bollywood movies! Any ways great job Aamir Khan in Ghajini but you should have let yourself died at the end and the movie could have broken probably Sholay recod.

well, aamir is way better than sharukh. i can assure you! aamir is so talented (NOT TALENTABLE) and way too hot! i mean, sharukh is sharukh. he's different but also good. aamir is better and the best! sharukh is just a person who happens to be a celebrity. i live here in philippines and many people loves aamir khan and dying for him, while sharukh? no one knows him here, except for me.

Aamir Khan can do any roles with perfection...SRK can do only love story, that's it nothing else. In SRK movies, it's always the same story, samr plot same action, everything is same....But in Aamir Khan's movie....everything is different....Aamir Khan, The # 2 in Bollywood after Amitabh Bachhan.... SRK may come in # 10......

Truly the versatile & enourmosuly talented actor Aamir Khan, If he would have done marketing for himself since 80's by doing strategic tie ups with big media conglomerates than he would have been considered as King of Bollywood.
His acting skills keeps him ahead of even the theatrical talents like Om Puri, Paresh Rawal etc.. Ghajini's script is not kind of Aamir's like, but the performances are 100% applaudable & ranks amongst a good film.
He should never do such lobbying like SRK does for himself across all generes..
amir khan releases one film every year, do you people know why, because he use all his knowledge and talent just to one film, he can not divide his talent on many things. unlike shah rukh khan he can do atleast three to four film sometimes that is why srk is more knowledgabl and talentable than amir. so all credit goes to SHAH RUKH KHAN AND HIS NOBLE FAMILY.
AMIR KHAN is the real KING OF BOLLYWOOD.No doubt about that.
