Priyanka makes TV debut as 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' host

New Delhi, March 19 (IANS) Actress Priyanka Chopra will make her debut on small screen as the host of the adventure reality show "Fear Factor- Khatron Ke Khiladi".

She will host the special Indian Premiere League (IPL) edition of the show on the Colors channel. The glamorous actress, who has replaced action star Akshay Kumar as the host, will be taking 13 cricketers to task.

"It feels fantastic to be associated with one of the biggest shows on Indian television today. It fits perfectly with my personality. I have been a huge fan of the show and thoroughly enjoy watching it.

'Amar Chitra Katha' to come alive on TV

New Delhi, March 17 (IANS) "Amar Chitra Katha" comics, which have entertained generations with interesting historical tales, epics and fables, is all set to come alive on television through Cartoon Network.

The 26-episode series, starting March 28, will see some of the stories from the books like "Kumbhakarna", "Mahiravana", "Tales of Arjuna", "Tales of Vishnu", "Abhimanyu", "Drona", "Tales of Shivaji" and "Ghatotkacha" to name a few.

The producers say they have tried their best to do justice to the series.

New Delhi, March 11 (IANS) Bollywood may have taken a backseat but Hindi entertainment channels are undeterred by the Indian Premier League (IPL) craze that will hit the small screen Friday. Most of the channels have launched new fiction shows to keep their regular audience hooked.

Imagine TV, formerly NDTV Imagine, has launched two new shows - "Jamunia" and "Kashi"- and Sony has started "Godh Bharai", with all three having aired their first episodes on International Women's Day Monday.

Rahul Mahajan weds Dimpy Ganguly on reality TV

Mumbai, March 6 (IANS) Rahul Mahajan Saturday night exchanged wedding vows with Kolkata-based model Dimpy Ganguly on NDTV Imagine's reality TV show "Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega".

Dimpy had edged past 14 contestants from the show and over 16,500 applicants to be the bride of Rahul, who is the son of slain Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pramod Mahajan.

Rahul told Dimpy on the show: "In the audition tape you said that you fell in love with me when you were five years old. Sixteen years after your wait is over."

New Delhi, Feb 24 (IANS) Rishikesh-based Manmohan Tiwari, who was one of the suitors on Rakhi Sawant's "Swayamvar" show, has bagged a role in the soon-to-be-launched show "Jamunia".

Tiwari, who was among the strongest contenders on "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar" last year and considered it as a stepping stone for his acting career, will be seen as Awadh Thakur in NDTV Imagine's new TV show.

New Delhi, Feb 22 (IANS) Singer Sunidhi Chauhan, whose career took off after she featured in a music reality show years ago, will now take centrestage as one of the three judges oi the fifth season of "Indian Idol".

"Annu Malek, Sunidhi Chauhan and Salim Merchant (of composer duo Salim-Sulaiman) will be the judges for 'Indian Idol 5'," a source from Sony TV told IANS.

New Delhi, Feb 12 (IANS) Television producers seem to be running short of original titles. They are picking up phrases from film songs and turning them into titles for their shows. "Chak Dhoom Dhoom", "Bairi Piya", "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" and "Tujh Sang Preet Lagayi Sajana" are just a few examples.

The front-runners are shows on STAR Plus - "Tujh Sang Preet Lagayi Sajana", "Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat", "Tere Mere Sapne", "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" and soon to be launched "Sasural Genda Phool".
