Asha Parekh to judge a reality show

New Delhi, Oct 9 (IANS) Yesteryears' leading lady Asha Parekh, known for her dancing skills and spontaneous performance, will judge a dance reality show "Tyohaar Dhamaka" on entertainment channel 9x. "Tyohaar Dhamaka" will go on air Oct 13 and dancer-actress Sudha Chandran will host it. Asha Parekh will judge the dancing skills of young TV actors - Gaurav Chopra, Narayani Shastri, Jai Bhanushali, Sayantani Ghosh, Shubhangi Atre, Pallavi Subhash, Gaurav Khanna, Twinkle Bajpai, Nandini Singh, Yash Pandit, Naman Shaw and Mouni Roy.

Amritsar, Oct 8 (IANS) As if his on-field antics were not enough to keep him in the midst of controversies, Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh's 'Ravana-Sita' dance number with TV actress Mona Singh on a dance show has left the Sikh clergy fuming. Harbhajan, who is popular in cricket circles as 'Bhajji', and his dance partner Mona of "Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin" fame, had last week performed a number on dance reality show "Ek Khiladi, Ek Hasina" depicting themselves as mythological demon-king Ravana and Lord Ram's wife Sita.

New Delhi, Oct 7 (IANS) Telecom operator Airtel Tuesday announced the launch of its direct-to-home (DTH) satellite television service. The service will be available in 62 cities from Oct 9, a senior company official said here. “This is a right time for Airtel to enter the market. We are very clear at Airtel and will take over as a leader of the sector as soon as possible,” Airtel chief executive officer and managing director Manoj Kohli said.

Mumbai, Oct 5 (IANS) While Colors channel touts "Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi" and "Bigg Boss" their most successful shows, a Sony Channel official says its copyright was held by them, but they didn't renew it because it didn't make good business sense. The first season of both the shows aired on Sony channel and the channel had the copyright of the series. "We had the licence for the shows, but we did not renew it because we believed it did not make business sense," Albert Almeida, executive vice president, Sony Entertainment Television (SET), told IANS.

Dubai, Oct 5 (IANS) Do audience votes really help in identifying the actual singing talent in television reality shows? Views differ, but what audience votes do is to add the suspense element to such shows, according to well-known Bollywood playback singer and reality show host Shaan. "Left to the judges, they can listen to everyone three or four times at the most and they can tell you that he or she is your best singer," Shaan told IANS here in a freewheeling interview.
