Colors channel gets notice for 'Na Aana Is Desh Ladoo'

New Delhi, Oct 29 (IANS) Colors TV channel is in trouble again, this time for its drama "Na Aana Is Desh Ladoo". The information and broadcasting ministry has sent the channel notice for allegedly portraying the character of a district magistrate in negative light in the serial. "Throughout the serial the character of the district magistrate has been portrayed negatively," the ministry said here Friday while referring to "Na Aana Is Desh Ladoo", a television drama that explores the issue of female infanticide, broadcast on Colours TV.

'Bigg Boss 3' gets government notice for vulgarity!

New Delhi, Oct 26 (IANS) The third season of the reality show "Bigg Boss 3", hosted by iconic film star Amitabh Bachchan, has landed in trouble with the Information and Broadcasting Ministry Monday sending a notice to Colors channel for "offending good taste" and for the use of vulgar language. The channel has been asked to show cause for its actions within five days, failing which it will be taken off the air.

New Delhi, Oct 25 (IANS) The grand finale of children's singing reality show "Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Liile Champ" finally came to finish with Hemant Brijwasi emerging as the winner of the show Saturday night. Brijwasi received 1,535,380 votes in the competition which saw many others participating in it. The event that was held live from Andheri Sports Complex Mumbai was hosted by the famous playback singer Shaan and saw Shreyasi Bhattacharjee battle it out with two boys- Yatharth Ratnum and Hemant Brijwasi.

The two have teamed up for a soap brand and will be seen getting cosy in the commercial. The couple has reportedly been paid a hefty amount to feature in the ad film which will be on air this month. This is their first ad together though the two have featured as a couple in films like "Kuch Naa Kaho", "Dhai Akshar Prem Ke", "Umrao Jaan" and "Guru". Their next is Mani Ratnam's "Ravan".

New Delhi, Oct 21 (IANS) Hollywood actress singer Jessica Simpson has chosen Bollywood star Neha Dhupia as the Indian Beauty ambassador for her TV show "Price Of Beauty". She zeroed in on Neha after spotting her on American mini series "Bollywood Hero", said a press release. Neha will now feature on a special segment on Bollywood on the show. The shooting for the segment is scheduled to start next week in Mumbai.

New Delhi, Oct 13 (IANS) It celebrated its golden jubilee recently and now the country's public television broadcaster Doordarshan is all set to go digital by 2017, said an Information & Broadcasting ministry official. "Doordarshan will be fully digitised by 2017. That is the goal we have set. We are also preferring a full dialogue with the industry (technology platforms)," said Zohra Chatterji, joint secretary I&B ministry Tuesday at the fifth annual India Digital Networks Summit (IDNS 2009).

"I am the youngest celebrity the party has ever chosen for such a respectful position," said the 33-year-old star who couldn't take more acting assignments because she was busy campaigning for the Maharashtra election.
