Khali, whose real name is Dalip Singh Rana and is an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) in the Punjab police, has been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been launched against him for remaining "absent" from duty without sanctioned leave, police officials said here Friday.

Dimple Kapadia's 'Tum Milo Toh Sahi' to release in January

Mumbai, Nov 20 (IANS) Dimple Kapadia and Nana Patekar starrer "Tum Milo Toh Sahi", a film about love at different ages, will release on Jan 29 next year. The film is directed by Kabir Sadanand and it depicts how ordinary people find their true calling in life by saving an old Irani cafe against all forces that stand against Indian traditions, said a press release. Other cast members include Suniel Shetty, Vidya Malvade, Anjana Sukhani and Rehan Khan.

The beard was supposed to come off this month after the completion of the schedule for Shankar's film. But Sanjay's mentor, Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, played the spoilsport when he asked him to campaign for the assembly elections in Maharashtra and it affected the shooting schedule.

Madhuri Dixit to play Indira Gandhi in biopic

New Delhi, Nov 20 (IANS) Asian-American filmmaker Krishna Shah is set to make a biopic on Indira Gandhi and has roped in Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit to play the role of India's first and only woman prime minister. Titled "Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story", the film was announced on the late prime minister's 92nd birth anniversary Thursday. The pre-production of the film has already been done. It will go on floors in mid 2010 and be shot in India, Britain, US and Russia.

I was very apprehensive while using those slangs. I have never used them in my real life but I had to because the script demanded. New Delhi, Nov 19 (IANS) Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif's look-alike Barbie doll has arrived in the country. It was designed to mark Barbie's 50 years. Katrina also walked the ramp as the showstopper for the "All Doll'd Up" special show dedicated to Barbie at the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai earlier this year. She sported a small pink dress designed by well-known designer Neeta Lulla's daughter Nishka. The 'Katrina Barbie' will be wearing the same design.
